This i sa Vancouver-based position that required 3 days a week onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). It is a 18 month position. Join a pioneering team revolutionizing the gaming industry! As a DevOps Engineer embedded with our cutting-edge game development studio partner through Aquent, you’ll be at the forefront of building and optimizing the cloud infrastructure that powers the next generation of gaming experiences. Your expertise in DevOps will directly impact the speed, reliability, and scalability of game development, enabling creative teams to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment.
Empower Creativity, Engineer Innovation In this role, you’ll be a vital bridge between creative vision and technical execution. You’ll architect and maintain the cloud infrastructure that supports the entire game development lifecycle, from initial concept to global release. Your passion for automation and optimization will ensure that developers have the tools and resources they need to bring their imaginative worlds to life. Collaborate with talented engineers and artists, driving innovation and efficiency in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and scale secure cloud infrastructure.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for deployment, testing, and integration.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform, etc.
- Collaborate with software engineers and pipeline developers on shared technology integration.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve system reliability and performance.
- Implement automated monitoring, alerting, and backup strategies.
- Contribute to cost optimization strategies for cloud services.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 3+ years of experience as a DevOps, Cloud Engineer, or similar role OR equivalent experience.
- Expertise in cloud architecture and deployment.
- Proficiency with scripting and automation tools.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD systems
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration
- Familiarity with source control (Git, Perforce) and infrastructure as code.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience integrating with content tools for game development.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Experience working within a game development studio environment.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $52 to C$58 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
