We are currently seeking a Terminal Operator to join our Fertilizer Distribution Terminal team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Fertilizer Distribution Terminal Manager, the Terminal Operator plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations at our terminal. This role supports everything from product handling and equipment maintenance to customer service and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely receive, load, and transfer products (railcars, trucks, warehouse).
- Blend dry and liquid fertilizer as required.
- Perform inventory control, complete required documentation, and report discrepancies.
- Operate and maintain equipment (forklift, skid steer, telehandler, tractors, etc.).
- Support scheduled facility inspections, audits, and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure the facility, yard, and equipment are kept clean, safe, and hazard-free.
- Handle agrichemicals and fertilizer in compliance with AWSA, WHMIS, TDG, and CMN HSE standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting with product pick-ups and addressing concerns.
- Participate in seasonal overtime and adjust to flexible hours during spring/fall peak season.
Qualifications
- Class 1 or Class 3 licence preferred (not required).
- Experience operating forklifts and other equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with maintenance/repairs.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
- Ability to complete criminal background check and provide a clean driver’s abstract.
- Willingness to obtain First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, and Forklift certifications.
Work Environment
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (extended/overtime hours required during peak seasons).
- Exposure to chemicals, dust, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Mix of office work (documentation, inventory systems) and hands-on operational duties.
