About the role
Mud Club Inc. is a Canadian company focused on gaming therapy, dedicated to supporting youth across the country. Through play-based therapeutic gaming experiences, Mud Club helps young people develop social skills, boost their confidence, and form meaningful connections in a safe and engaging environment. By combining therapy with the power of gaming, Mud Club creates opportunities for growth, resilience, and community, empowering youth to thrive both online and offline.
The Role We’re looking for a Youth Gaming Group Facilitator who loves Minecraft and knows how to guide groups of young players through meaningful, engaging, and fun experiences. You’ll be leading small groups of youth online, helping them collaborate, problem-solve, and grow through play. Think: part gaming host, part group leader, part mentor — with a dash of therapist’s mindset.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate online Minecraft and VR-based groups for youth, supporting both fun gameplay and skill development.
- Create safe, inclusive, and encouraging environments where every participant feels valued.
- Guide group activities, challenges, and adventures that promote communication, teamwork, and creativity.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists and Mud Club staff to align sessions with therapeutic goals.
- Observe and track group dynamics, supporting kids who need extra help with regulation or engagement.
- Bring energy, empathy, and adaptability to every session — no two groups are exactly the same!
- Work closely with our team to continuously improve our gaming therapy programs.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with Minecraft — enough to confidently host and guide gameplay while supporting multiple kids at once.
- Background in working with children and youth (schools, camps, clubs, or therapy groups).
- Experience in a therapeutic, counseling, or occupational therapy setting (formal training or on-the-ground experience).
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills — you can keep kids engaged, manage group flow, and pivot when things get tricky.
- Tech-comfortable: able to run sessions remotely, navigate Minecraft tools, and troubleshoot basic issues.
Bonus Points If You
- Have formal training in occupational therapy, child development, or counseling.
- Have led gaming groups, esports teams, or online communities.
- Have skills or experience with virtual reality (VR)
- Are skilled at weaving fun into structured goals — making play both exciting and purposeful.
Perks of Joining Mud Club
- 100% remote
- Be part of a warm, creative, and supportive team of therapists and gamers.
- Use gaming as a force for good — helping kids build skills, confidence, and friendships.
- Yes, you really do get to play Minecraft for work (but with purpose).
How To Apply Complete the application form and questionnaire.
