About the role

Community Inclusion Services Society is seeking a L.I.F.E. Services Counselor to Join our Team for a One Year Term

The L.I.F.E. Services Counselor works closely with people who use our L.I.F.E. Service to co-design, deliver, evaluate and continually improve the effectiveness of their service.  The LIFE Service focuses on a blend of supports aimed at assisting people to achieve their ambitions related to employment, community connection and lifelong learning.  The LIFE Service strategies incorporate the development and strengthening of informal support networks and personal skill and confidence enhancement - all with the aim of pursuing and living the lifestyles they want.

We think the L.I.F.E. Services Counselor is someone who would describe themselves like this…

“I have a knack for unconventional problem solving and huge reservoir of ideas I am eager to share.  I am pretty up to date on all the current best practices around supporting people to connect in community, expand their informal support circles and find work, and yet I am ready to push forward and invent the next best practices. My knowledge, experience and insights fuel my forward movement rather than anchor me in place.

And, I am happy with a flexible work schedule based out of Port Coquitlam. I have my degree/diploma in social services and a few years experience working with people with disabilities.  I have my own vehicle, a good driving record and am happy to use my car for work.  I have a clean criminal record and will get a TB Test, and anything else I need before I start.

And, I understand that this is a one year position, but if it is extended I would love to stick around!”

Does that sound like you?
