About the Role:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing the Swish brand, by facilitating new business growth and onboarding new customers through the actions of prospecting and strategic sales planning. In this role, key areas of focus and responsibility involve the research of industry, market, and territory trends combined with continued development and execution of sales plan strategies. The Business Development Manager serves as the primary contact for the customer decision-makers and leads all functions of the sales process and experience for new and potential customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and articulate Swish’s Value Proposition to customers, providing solutions to grow profitable sales.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop relationships with potential customers who have been identified as target clients to meet corporate objectives of maximum profitability and sales growth.
  • Research, analyze, and identify new potential customers, and develop targeted sales plans to increase customer base in a variety of industries and territories.
  • Prospect and qualify new business leads for potential new customers and convert them into increased business opportunities.
  • Onboard new customers and provide any support required.
  • Establish customer and market priorities to execute a strategic course of action to accomplish sales goals.
  • Keep updated on industry market conditions and trends.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer sales activity in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to track and review the new sales growth pipeline.
  • Achieve overall gross margin profits sales targets and maintain a healthy sales pipeline for new business.
  • Support vendor programs as well as internal marketing initiatives.
  • Provide written programs and demos as necessary for the specific needs of customers.
  • Participate in continued education to continually update product knowledge and selling skills in order to provide professional service for the customer base.
  • Responsible for in-depth product knowledge of all Swish lines of business, including KLFP (Kitchen, Laundry & Food Processing), Equipment, and Chemical, in order to provide the customer with effective solutions.
  • Provide pricing to customers and negotiate on behalf of the organization within the defined sales and pricing guidelines.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
  • Work closely with Customer Development Managers to transfer established customers, and provide support to customer accounts.
  • Responsible for collaborating with internal departments to facilitate customer need fulfillment.
  • Fully leverage all resources and technical support available.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Post-secondary education preferred or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior sales experience in Business Development Manager role, proven success with B2B sales
  • Self-motivated, possessing a high energy level and a desire to achieve goals beyond what is required.
  • Business and financial acumen around sales forecasting, opportunity management and customer planning.
  • Ability to clearly articulate business drivers, understand key financial and total cost of ownership concepts with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to utilize sales process to uncover customer objections/concerns, and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Proven ability to grow sales and achieve gross margin sales targets.
  • End use market experience with education, healthcare, facilities management, hospitality and government is an asset.
  • Above average product knowledge.
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong computer skills required, and ability to work with emerging technologies and technical concepts.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
