Since our inception, we have helped landscapers save time, money, and stress and plant over 1.5 million plants and trees. Led by a young and eager group of entrepreneurs, GoMaterials is aggressively expanding across North America. We are therefore looking for amazing people to add to our team!

About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Sales to lead, scale, and elevate our sales organization as we enter our next stage of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll define our sales strategy, build and mentor a high-performing team, and partner with leadership to drive revenue growth and market expansion.

What you'll do:

  • Define & Lead Sales Strategy: Own the sales vision, roadmap, and execution aligned with company goals.
  • Build & Scale the Team: Recruit, develop, and retain top-performing Account Managers, Account Executives, and sales support staff.
  • Drive Revenue Growth: Set and manage sales targets, territories, and compensation models to ensure consistent overperformance.
  • Foster High-Performance Culture: Create an environment of accountability, motivation, and continuous learning.
  • Expand Market Reach: Identify new customer segments, regions, and growth opportunities.
  • Optimize Sales Operations: Implement tools, processes, and analytics to increase efficiency (CRM, sales automation, forecasting).
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Operations and Tech to ensure customer success and maximize lifetime value.
  • Coach & Mentor: Provide guidance and structured career paths for team members.
  • Report & Analyze: Track KPIs, pipeline health, win/loss metrics, and present insights to the executive team.

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years in B2B sales with at least 3+ years in a leadership role (preferably in retail, SaaS, marketplace, or startup environments).
  • Proven track record exceeding sales targets while leading high-growth teams.
  • Ability to build, mentor, and inspire sales teams of varying sizes.
  • Comfortable defining high-level strategy while rolling up your sleeves to close key deals.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using CRM/sales tools (HubSpot preferred) to drive performance.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience scaling sales teams across North America.
  • Familiarity with B2B marketplaces, supply chain, or construction/landscaping industries.
  • Exposure to sales enablement, revenue operations, or partnerships.
