WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
Intern, Payroll
Reporting to the Senior Payroll Specialist, this position will play a supporting role in the delivery of full cycle payroll.
- Assist with accurate delivery of bi-weekly payroll including all data inputs into the payroll system, validation of time entries, ROE submissions, etc.
- Work closely with HR and operating managers when hiring part-time workers for tournaments to ensure efficient workflow and proper processes related to payroll compliance.
- Assist with preparing ad hoc reports in the ADP payroll system.
- Assist employees with any questions on their pay
- Assist with month-end reporting processes, including preparation of payroll report for accountant to record related journal entries, reconciliation of payroll related accounts, and all payroll related remittances and tax account reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end activities (RL1, T4A, etc)
WHO YOU ARE?
- Currently working towards degree or diploma in business or payroll certification
- Payroll experience preferred
- Payroll system experience an asset (ADP, Dayforce)
- Strong Excel skills
- Service-oriented with effective communication skills. Highly organized, work with excellent analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- 6 month fixed term contract
- Hybrid remote office schedule
- Hours of work are 3 days per week and fall within regular business hours .
- Reporting location is Sobeys Stadium at 1 Shoreham Drive, Suite 100, North York, ON
