As the Associate Systems Developer you will be a member of an integral team responsible for developing system-based solutions by formulating programs, developing and maintaining codes and documenting processes for consistency and continuous improvement. You will collaboratively contribute to the team’s initiatives with the support and guidance of your team members.

Technologies you have experience with:

  • Exposure to one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
  • A working understanding of core software development concepts, such as version control, APIs, databases, Git, and Agile SDLC practices.
  • Any exposure to Guidewire is considered an asset but not required.

How you will create impact:

  • Supporting the team in various responsibilities including estimating assigned tasks, completing status reports, and creating and maintaining technical documentation.

  • Participating in the design and execution of program coding to implement features of small to medium complexity.

  • Contributing to an implementation and back-out plan for a single system.

  • Assisting with unit testing for developed code, verifying functionalities and supporting system and user acceptance testing.

  • Learning relevant Information Technology (IT) standards, methodologies, processes and tools and contributing to project reviews.

To join our team:

  • You have 1-3 years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.

  • You have completed post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.

  • Proficiency in English is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority non-francophone clients, groups, teams. Drafting complex English documents and preparing daily reports for anglophone leaders. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Salary information

Expected salary range $50,280 to $83,800

Salary placement

“The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.”

Incentive/Variable pay

“Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.”
