About the Role

As ATB Financial’s next Strategy Analyst, you will support ATB’s strategy team to help translate broad challenges and opportunities into practical, data-driven deliverables and actions for ATB.

This position works closely with the enterprise strategy team in order to execute on two key roles: continuous monitoring of the internal and external environment to ensure the successful delivery of our enterprise strategy, and high-quality development of competitive and strategic insights and engaging materials to ensure that Management and Board are appropriately engaged and informed.

Your strong business acumen, excellent business communication skills (written and presentation), and ability to interpret and model qualitative and quantitative data to generate insights, will be invaluable in translating operational activities and results into enterprise strategic progress. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working iteratively with your team and stakeholders to refine deliverables and ensure exceptional quality.

Accountabilities

  • Conduct both primary and secondary research on factors that could impact ATB, including but not limited to technology, regulatory, geopolitical and economic trends
  • Data analysis and modelling (financial and other) to support development on strategic and competitive insights and strategic points of view
  • Help develop points of view on opportunities and challenges facing ATB’s business in alignment with the overall enterprise strategy
  • Work closely with team members across the strategy team to advance the development of enterprise strategy deliverables, including presentations, word documents, and financial analysis.
  • Help in delivering high-quality deliverables to ad-hoc strategic questions as required.
  • Assist in the development of relevant executive, and Board meeting materials, presentations and reports.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of key events tied to the executive and board cycle, including executive meetings and quarterly and annual board education and strategy sessions.

Skills, Experience and Education

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive corporate office experience in strategic planning, business management, finance or management consulting.

Strategic and Financial Acumen:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Deep understanding of the banking industry, including current trends, income generation models, and the connection between financial statements and operational strategies.
  • Deep understanding of financial statements and the ability to model changes in financial statements, as well as turn financial modelling into executive-level presentations.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Outstanding written skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated comfort with developing presentations for senior-level audiences.

Project and Organizational Skills:

  • Strong project management skills, ensuring successful delivery of key initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all deliverables.
