Role description:
Arcadis' Intelligence practice works on unique and leading-edge transportation technology projects for agencies across North America. We are looking for great people with a keen interest in transportation and technology to join our Intelligent Transportation System and Tolling teams to assist public and private entities across North America plan, design, procure, deploy and utilize technologies and systems for application to tolling, traffic operations, traveller information, transit and other transportation business functions. Examples of the types of projects that we typically work on include electronic payment systems for tolling and transit, ITS systems for incident detection and management, data analysis for performance monitoring and operational improvement, mobile apps for payment, planning and information dissemination. The role sits within our global business area Digital Intelligence. We use digital intelligence and deep human knowledge to create products and solutions in a holistic way. We empower our clients with agile, data-driven insights and technologies that complement our sustainable design, engineering and advisory expertise. We can confidently work in partnership to address global challenges from climate change and rapid urbanization, to increasing digitalization, socio-economic disruption and societal expectations head-on, all with the common goal of improving quality of life.
Role accountabilities:

Coordinating project activities (primarily for system delivery projects), taking responsibility for tasks and deliverables, working with colleagues and subject matter experts from across the firm to come up with creative ideas and solutions, and preparing the materials and deliverables required for the project
-
Prepare project deliverables such as technical memos, design documents, project plan and testing documents, reports, schedules, and engineering cost estimates
-
Hands-on testing of software and hardware
-
Assisting with proposal preparation to pursue new work
-
Gather system requirements and work directly with client team and internal software development and service delivery teams to break down the system requirements into functions and tasks
-
Support Project Management activities such as scheduling, progress reporting, budget estimates / updates, and liaising with client team
-
Onsite activities may include meeting with client for workshops, overseeing device installation and/or formal testing
-
May travel 15 - 25 % of time to project locations for client-facing assignments
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Transportation, Transportation Engineering, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or a similar field
-
Experience of 1+ years with transportation projects or the practical implementation of technology
-
Ability to coordinate with other engineering disciplines, software development and service delivery teams, project managers and clients.

ITS, Communications, Tolling, Security knowledge is an asset
-
Outstanding teamwork, written and communications skills.
-
Self-motivated.
-
Travel is a requirement.

Valid driver’s license

The salary range for this position is 66,000 RANGE 82,500 . The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
