About the Role

The Home Visitor is directly responsible for administering, maintaining, and recruiting a caseload of 60-75 children in a maximum of 25 day care Licensed Home Child Care Provider homes. The Home Visitor visits each Child care home regularly to verify the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) requirements, and that the Agency’s expectations are met. This ensures that the care being provided is safe, nurturing and quality.

Home Visitors support all Providers, children and families to maintain a successful Child care placement. In addition, the Home Visitor provides mentoring, coaching and deals with all questions and concerns regarding placements, provider operations and strict adherence to CCEYA and Health and Safety protocols.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for positively promoting the Agency’s goals, guiding principles, philosophy and mission statement.
  • Responsible for intake visits with parents and Child/ren in a safe environment convenient for families.
  • Responsible for determining the suitability of potential Licensed Home Child Care Providers.
  • Responsible for referral of parents and child/ren to the most suitable Licensed Home Child Care Provider home.
  • Responsible for regular unscheduled visits as determined by the Agency to each Licensed Home Child Care Provider home, to provide resources and support for Licensed Home Child Care Providers on their caseload.
  • Responsible for supporting individual Licensed Home Child Care Provider professional development needs.
  • Responsible for accurate records and written reports for each parent, Licensed Home Child Care Provider and child on their caseload.
  • Responsible for the awareness and development needs of each Child on their caseload and to make appropriate referrals as required.
  • Responsible for the enforcement of the standards and guidelines of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), in each Early Learning and Child Care home on their caseload.
  • Engage and actively participate in Performance and Development process.
  • Responsible for overseeing and assisting with family billing, adjustments, Licensed Home Child Care Provider invoices and payment.
  • Meets with the Home Child Care Services Manager on a bi-monthly basis to update caseload statistical information, and to review the employee’s development plan.
  • Responsible for additional duties assigned by the Home Child Care Services Manager or Associate Director of Programs.

Licenses & Certifications Required

  • Two years of experience in a leadership role in a child care setting

  • One to three years of experience in the child care profession

  • Registration with the college or Early Childhood Educators (required)

  • Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C Certification (WSIB Approved)

  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check (Done within the last 6 Months)

  • Valid Driver’s License and access to your own vehicle

You bring the following qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the emergent curriculum approach.

  • Knowledge and understanding of compliance regulations and appropriate legislation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • High level of caring, collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

  • High level of attention to confidentiality.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, etc.

  • Willing to participate in ongoing learning.

  • Record of up to date Immunization (TB Test, Tetanus, Polio, MMR)
