Reporting to the Enterprise Data Governance Specialist, the Data Quality Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy,
consistency, and reliability of the organization's data assets. Your primary role will be to perform data profiling, build and implement
data quality rules, and query data to assess and monitor data integrity. You will also contribute to the implementation and continuous
improvement of data quality and governance frameworks, strategies, policies, and procedures. Your role will involve close
collaboration with the Enterprise Data Governance Specialist, data owners, data stewards, Digital & Technology teams, and all other
business units, to identify data quality issues, strengthen data governance and champion best practices in data management.
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to effectively implement data quality and data governance initiatives that
enhance the organization's data integrity and usability. Key indicators of success include the identification and resolution of data
quality issues, the implementation of robust data governance frameworks, and the promotion of data management best practices
across the organization. Your ability to collaborate with stakeholders, drive continuous improvement in data quality, and ensure
compliance with data governance policies will be essential for achieving success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a champion for data quality and governance by advocating for and promoting best practices in data management and
data governance across the organization.
- Perform and support data profiling and quality analysis to examine the structure, content, and data quality of existing and
incoming data.
- Collaborate with data owners and stewards, IT teams, and business units to define data quality, identify and resolve data
quality issues, and establish guidelines for key data dimensions.
- Develop and maintain data quality metrics, validation rules, and monitoring processes to ensure accuracy, completeness,
consistency, and reliability.
- Work with data stewardship team, data producers and data engineers to cleanse and transform data to rectify inconsistencies
and inaccuracies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and remediate data quality issues by analyzing and improving underlying
business processes.
- Create and maintain documentation on data quality rules, validation processes and issues resolution procedures for reuse.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of enterprise level data quality reporting solutions.
- Communicate data quality status and issues to stakeholders and management.
- Leverage data governance tools and platforms to support data quality, metadata management, and data stewardship
workflows.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks, strategies, policies,
and procedures to align with organizational goals.
- Support metadata management initiatives by contributing to metadata standards.

- Deliver training and guidance to data producers and stewardship teams on data quality principles, data governance practices,

Qualifications:
- A four-year bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field from a
university of recognized standing with a minimum of three years data governance, data management or analytics-related
experience
OR
- A two-year diploma in a relevant discipline from an institute of recognized standing with a minimum of five years data
governance, data management or analytics related experience
- Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks and data quality best practices.
- Experience with data quality profiling and assessment tools and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with SQL and writing queries to extract data for profiling.
- Experience working in Agile environments and with product management frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant data protection regulations and compliance requirements.
- Certification in data quality or data governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on managing business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and
external parties.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments and to lead cross functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex ideas with ease
- Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of the DAMA International Body of Knowledge is an asset
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $37.94-$52.52 Hourly,
$72,703.54-$100,638.98 Annually.
