SVP Finance, Rights and Streaming
About the role
Media has changed more in the last decade than in the previous fifty.
Content now flows seamlessly across streaming platforms, digital channels, global broadcasters and international markets. As audiences consume content wherever and whenever they choose, media companies face an increasingly important challenge: how to maximize the value of their content across a rapidly evolving ecosystem.
Our client is a globally recognized media company operating at the intersection of content, streaming, rights management and monetization. Entrepreneurial, innovative and optimistic about the future, the organization has built a dynamic international business spanning North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
As part of its continued evolution, the company has aligned its Rights and Streaming businesses into a single monetization-focused unit designed to maximize the value of content across platforms, markets and audiences. This has created an exciting opportunity for a strategic finance leader to join the business as SVP Finance, Rights & Streaming.
Reporting to the Chief Monetization Officer, this role sits at the centre of some of the most important decisions facing the organization: Which platform creates the greatest long-term value for a piece of content? Which territories offer the strongest growth and monetization opportunities? How should content be packaged, priced and distributed? When should rights be held, licensed or redeployed? Where should the company invest to accelerate growth?
This is a highly visible role for an ambitious finance leader who enjoys partnering with commercial operators, influencing strategy and helping businesses make better decisions.
The successful candidate will bring: Deep fluency in streaming business models (SVOD, AVOD and FAST), content economics, rights licensing and monetization 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience A proven track record as a strategic business partner to commercial leaders Experience operating in high-growth, evolving environments, including new business models, acquisitions, platform launches, and pricing or packaging decisions Strong financial planning and analysis capabilities, including forecasting, modelling and investment analysis Exceptional communication, collaboration and leadership skills Media experience preferred; candidates from digital platforms, technology, entertainment, music or other rights-driven businesses will also be considered CPA, MBA or equivalent credentials
Most importantly, we are seeking an intellectually curious, commercially minded leader who is passionate about media, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is energized by helping great organizations make smarter decisions.
