About the role

Sioux North High School Position is dependent upon enrollment Salary - $6,150 The course will be credit-bearing, Healthy Living and Large Group Activities (HIP40), for Indigenous Youth attending Sioux North High School from Windigo communities. Effective start date/end date and working arrangements to be determined by the school principal.

The Following Qualifications Are Required

  • A member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers with qualifications in the Intermediate and Senior Divisions.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the cultural heritage and values of Anishinaabe people.
  • A full understanding of the Ontario Curriculum Guidelines for Secondary Schools.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of individual students, especially students living away from home to attend secondary school.
  • Participate in community activities to develop a better rapport and understanding of the students.
  • Maintain a liaison with Program, School and Community Leaders.
  • Fluency in Anishinaabe language is an asset, preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation.
