Who you are:
- Must be enrolled in anEngineering co-op (or internship) program at a recognized Canadian university.
- Have Excellent computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely, using appropriate technical vocabulary.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.

Execution Planning and Estimating
Discipline: Electrical, Civil | | Location: Edmonton
Description:
- Creating order of magnitude estimates for project scopes to support Asset Management on the General Tariff Application that is filed to the Alberta Utilities Commission (to receive approval to complete the defined work)
- Creating order of magnitude estimates for project scopes pertaining to Large Distribution projects.
- Updating templates the team uses to support their day-to-day work.
- Review and analyze reports of actual versus estimate/project scope costs and highlight variances
- Assist in the maintenance of databases of historical estimates
- Assisting with the development of new estimating templates as required
- Analyze and identify opportunities for improvements in estimating practice and recommend changes to process and tools where applicable
Software’s Used:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Hexagon NetWorks
- Abadata
- Design & Materials Assistant (DMA)
Working Conditions:
- 95% Office, 5% Field
- Hybrid Schedule
- Entry level network modelling/facility mapping in the Hexagon NetWorks Core suite of applications.
- Troubleshoot and address issues within the electrically connected model in NetWorks Core.
- Participate in data integrity and cleanup projects that involve research, analysis, problem solving, and the reconciliation of data from various sources to resolve issues with the existing Utility Network Model data.
- Develop documentation for both existing and new work processes.
- Run daily validation tools as part of group QA/QC processes.
Network Connectivity

Telecom Engineering
Discipline: Electrical, Computer, Communication Engineering | | Location: Edmonton
Description:
- Designs projects to modernize and expand the utility-owned Telecom system through various project types and provides operational support as needed.
- Provides drafting, construction packages, and mapping support.
- Marks up preliminary and as-built drawing packages as required, and coordinates drawing packages with other Engineering staff.
- Support pre-commissioning of new assets including testing and configuration of devices and collection of asset data for entry into Maximo.
- Use telecom network design software tool for IT infrastructure and planning telecom networks.
- Conducts data analysis in support of network planning activities.
Software’s Used:
- Microsoft Office 365
- Google Earth Pro
- MicroStation
Working Conditions:
- 95% Office, 5% Field
- Hybrid Schedule
System Operations Support
Discipline: Electrical Engineering || Location: Vegreville
Description:
- Distribution Outage Review & Correction
- Monitor & Review distribution outages. Confirm outage location, customer counts, duration, and cause codes are accurate.
- Review and update System Operations Policy, Procedures, and Processes.
- Review System Operations policies, procedures, and processes that require review. Update them as required.
- Support Technical Trainer with System Operations training related tasks.
- Update System Operations SharePoint
- Update Distribution Single Line Diagrams (SLDs):
- Update pdf drawings with upcoming projects
- Adding permanent updates onto the SLDs using MicroStation.
- Add equipment into GIS
Software Used:
- OMS – Outage Management Software
- OET – Outage Edit Tool
- Hexagon G-Designer
- Hexagon INET Viewer
- Microsoft Office Products
- Adobe & Foxit PDF Software
