About the role
Temporary position for 18 months.
As an English UX Writer, you actively contribute to improving the user experience on Desjardins.com by creating clear, relevant, inclusive, and accessible informational content. Your work is grounded in business strategies, data, and an omnichannel approach, and follows best practices in UX writing, SEO, and accessibility. You assume a content design leadership role on strategic, high‑complexity digital projects and help drive collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and various partners. More specifically, you work closely with multidisciplinary teams (UX, UI, SEO, data analytics, etc.) to understand user needs, analyze user journeys, and propose appropriate content solutions. Teamwork, collaboration, and the ability to operate in sometimes ambiguous contexts are integral to your day‑to‑day work. You also have direct access to a usability testing lab and a dedicated research team to support project delivery. You join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, benefit from flexible work schedules, and have access to training and professional development programs. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Write English content tailored to the Ontario market
- Translate content from French to English as needed, while respecting intent and brand voice
- Apply UX writing, SEO, and accessibility best practices in digital content design
- Proactively identify issues, challenges, user needs, pain points, and opportunities to improve the user experience through digital content
- Analyze user experience‑related information, including user needs, journeys, and friction points
- Adapt to evolving and changing environments
- Manage priorities and deliver high‑quality content in complex contexts
- Propose concrete, structured solutions and navigate ambiguous situations
- Demonstrate autonomy in execution and in relationships with business partners

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, literature, linguistics, translation, or a related field
- A minimum of six years of experience in writing or any other relevant field
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience in interaction design
- Intermediate to advanced spoken and written proficiency in French
- Strong expertise in English writing (excellent written English skills)
- Hybrid expertise in writing and translation, particularly from French to English, while respecting intent, brand tone, and user experience
- Knowledge of professional linguistic standards, tools, and practices
- Knowledge of UX writing, SEO, and accessibility principles
- Knowledge of the Ontario market, its cultural realities, and UX content expectations
- Strong command of specialized vocabulary related to digital, business, and cooperative environments
