The Punjabi Language Father Support Worker will facilitate weekly, evening, Chai Time/Trucker Time, Anger Awareness, Men in Relationships, and other curriculum-based sessions, and create and maintain relationships with participants and agency and community partners.

Your Role:

Archway’s Punjabi Language Father Support Worker with the Abby Dads contributes by:

  • Facilitating Punjabi Language Chai Time and Trucker Time drop-in groups. Facilitates Anger Awareness, Men in Relationships, and various other curriculum-based classes (evening groups, in person and online).
  • Providing individual support to clients.
  • Communicating with supervisor and fellow staff on a regular basis.
  • Facilitating small groups.
  • Providing resource referrals and participation documentation to Program participants.
  • Documenting sessions, referrals, and client interactions using the CAMS client tracking system.
  • Creating and maintaining client files in CARF approved format.
  • Providing other related duties as required.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with people, has good group facilitation skills, is a good communicator, and who has empathy.

Our Offer

  • Wage: $27.00–$30.00 per hour.
  • A part-time position at 12 hours per week, availability Mondays to Thursdays, from 4:00pm to 9:00 PM.
  • Permanent.

Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:

  • Diploma in Social work or a related field (completed or in progress).
  • At least 1 year experience working with families or at-risk community members.
  • Experience providing conflict resolution to clients is an asset.
  • Experience facilitating groups is an asset.
  • Experience working with clients in crisis is an asset.

The Job Requires you to have:

  • Well developed written, verbal, and active listening skills; able to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Fluency in the Punjabi language—Reading and writing Punjabi
  • Well developed conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team that includes staff and volunteers.
  • Well developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office 365.
  • The ability to interact with clients who are experiencing stressful family dynamics or crisis situations.
  • Current Emergency First Aid/CPR level C certificate is a condition of employment.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
