Our Registered Echocardiographer Technicians are part of an inter-disciplinary professional team providing optimum quality diagnostic images to aid in patient diagnosis and or treatment.

Employment Status: Permanent Full-time Reporting Relationship: Manager, Cardio Diagnostics and Respiratory Therapy

Hourly Rate: $36.84 - $51.77

Union Group: OPSEU 577

Hours of work: Flexible day hours ranging from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm

Location: Humber River Health, Wilson site

Position Responsibilities

  • Providing optimum quality diagnostic images to aid in patient diagnosis and or treatment.
  • Manage Inpatient and Outpatient Echocardiograms
  • Operating, Troubleshooting and ensuring ultrasound equipment and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Preparing electronic and written reports required to document all procedures, test results.
  • Participating in quality improvement and other related activities.
  • Observing and understanding departmental procedures and procedures as well as the hospital mission and value statements
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized post diploma echocardiography program or recognized equivalent.
  • Registered as an Echhocardiographer Technician with CMRTO.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Medical Diagnostic Sonographers (ARMDS) or Sonography Canada (CARDUP )
  • Minimum of one year recent practical experience in Echocardiography.
  • Paediatric ECHO and T.E.E. experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent problem solving, problem recognition.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member.
  • Must be able to work effectively with other team members, patients, and family members.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and properly maintain all equipment.
  • Meditech and Xceleraexperience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a busy workload in a high volume area.
  • Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement.
