Job Title: Operations Assistant (Level 2) Location: G3 Hamilton The Operations Assistant performs duties related to handling grain throughout the facility. This includes receiving grains via trucks and rail cars and loading out/shipping grain via trucks, ships, and rail cars. Key objectives include ensuring and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for everyone at the location. General housekeeping and site upkeep. Excellent customer service and communication and working relationships with G3 colleagues and business partners. Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to: Comply at all times with corporate EH&S policies and best practices Ensure physical facilities are clean, efficient and well-maintained Receive grain by truck, including weighing and documentation Sampling grain and assessing grain qualities Binning and transferring grain Operating Terminal control systems Operating grain cleaning equipment and assessing quality Shipping grain via ship and truck Provide friendly/quality customer service to all customers Identify opportunities to improve standard operating procedures and reduce operating expenses Promote effective communications and collaborative working relationships between management, staff and G3 head office Assisting with preventative maintenance Operating Skid Steer, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, Snow Plow and Salter Truck Seasonal shift work, occasional overnights, weekend shifts when required Other duties as required Qualifications: Strong work ethic, ability to learn and willingness to take on responsibilities of the position Effective computer knowledge and experience Good communication and team-work skills Knowledge/Familiarity of grain grading and cleaner operations is considered an asset Farm / Ag industry experience considered an asset Valid Ontario divers license Comfortable working at heights and confined spaces Maintenance experience preferred If you are looking for a flexible work-life balance, a competitive salary and benefits package and an opportunity to grow your career, G3 will give you this opportunity. G3 Terminal Vancouver, a next-generation grain export facility on the West Coast, can receive three 150-car trains at a time on its loop tracks, where they unload quickly and return to the Prairies for more. At its dock, G3 Terminal Vancouver's three massive ship loaders are setting new standards for rapidly loading vessels up to Capesize. In Eastern Canada, our port facilities on the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway System from Thunder Bay, ON to Quebec, QC provide access to destinations across the Atlantic. Farmers deliver direct to our port facilities in Hamilton, ON and Trois Rivieres, QC.
