JOB DESCRIPTION
**Position Title:**Supply Chain Senior Supervisor
**Department:**Supply Chain
**Position Reports to:**Director, Supply Chain
Position Summary: The Supply Chain Senior Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in ensuring operational excellence, inventory integrity, and service performance across the organization. In this role, you will lead a team of Planners and collaborate closely with cross functional partners to optimize purchasing, forecasting, and replenishment activities that directly support customer satisfaction and business profitability.
A champion of both people and process, you will coach, develop, and empower your team to deliver exceptional results by being responsible for overseeing day to day supply chain operations while also contributing to long term strategic initiatives that strengthen process efficiency, vendor performance, and organizational agility. With a strong focus on accuracy, proactive risk management, and continuous improvement, you will drive key outcomes including improved fill rates, reduced waste, greater financial recovery, and consistent execution of best in class supply chain practices.
In addition to overseeing replenishment strategy, the Senior Supervisor will be responsible for actively purchasing and managing a defined portfolio of products, ensuring the right inventory is available at the right time to meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Development
- Provide coaching, training and development for Supply Chain Team
**KPIs:**Coaching documentation completed monthly ≥99.2%.
- Support employee engagement and team performance.
**KPIs:**Team engagement score improves or remains above company benchmark.
- Ensure strong onboarding for new team members.
**KPIs:**Onboarding milestones completed within 30–60 days.
Inventory & Replenishment Performance
- Maintain system vs. physical inventory accuracy
**KPIs:**Maintain Inventory Budgets
- Achieve strong customer service levels through accurate replenishment and forecasting.
**KPIs:**Fill rate ≥99.2%;
- Manage inventory levels within targeted Days of Inventory on Hand and Turns
KPIs:≥ 8 turns annually
- Reduce backorders and ensure product availability.
**KPIs:**Backorders ≤1% of total SKUs.
Operational Efficiency
- Ensure high accuracy and timeliness of Purchase Orders.
**KPIs:**PO accuracy ≥99.2%; vendor confirmations within 48 hours.
- Improve supplier performance and delivery consistency.
**KPIs:**Vendor on-time delivery ≥98%.
- Resolve replenishment and operational issues quickly and effectively.
**KPIs:**Issue resolution cycle time ≤24–48 hours.
- Reduce waste and proactively manage at risk inventory.
**KPIs:**Expired/at risk inventory reduced by 25% YOY.
- Maximize vendor recovery through effective reclamation processes.
**KPIs:**Vendor credit recovery ≥95% of eligible claims.
- Support financial performance through strategic buying.
**KPIs:**Forward buy savings meet or exceed annual targets.
Operational Requirements
- Follow safe work procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard free work area.
- Ensure full compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, and OHSA standards and training.
- Support accurate reporting of injuries, accidents, and near misses; collaborate with Health & Safety on corrective measures.
- Report any concerns related to safety, food safety, or product handling.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in buying or planning within the foodservice industry or comparable experience.
- Advanced E3 practical experience and knowledge.
- Broad background in Supply Chain Planning and Inventory Management, with strong understanding of logistics and effective purchasing timelines.
- Independent, analytical thinker with strong business acumen and a focus on profitability and feasibility.
- Demonstrated energy, urgency, and problem solving capability in fast paced situations.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners and external stakeholders.
- Solid negotiation experience and comfort working with diverse groups.
- Proficiency with planning and forecasting tools, and strong Microsoft Office (Excel) skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
