The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and team-oriented and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The position is based at Connacher’s Calgary office, with occasional trips to site.

Company

Connacher operates two SAGD facilities and is currently executing a development plan to increase and maintain production of approximately 23,000 bbls/day.

  • Drive the improvement of IT processes, standards, and security posture
  • Support or lead disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives
  • Act as a subject matter expert across IT disciplines, mentoring junior staff as needed
  • Maintain strong relationships with external vendors and service providers

Skills

  • Demonstrated success in hybrid roles combining infrastructure, systems, and application expertise
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack, including M365, Azure, and Windows Server
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server (including performance tuning and scripting)
  • Working knowledge of VMware, backup solutions, and enterprise storage
  • Proven experience with networking and firewalls, ideally Palo Alto
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365, Maximo, or similar enterprise platforms
  • Solid understanding of application integration (APIs, connectors, data flows, SSIS)
  • Ability to lead initiatives, manage priorities, and work with minimal oversight
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.)

·        Understanding of data analytics concepts or experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).

  • Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, or Palo Alto technologies
  • Experience in IT governance, compliance, or ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
  • Exposure to cloud migration or digital transformation projects

· Professional team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships.

· Passionate to share knowledge, participate in problem solving, and stay up to date on industry best practises and technology.

· Detail oriented, strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities, and ability to adapt to change in a deadline driven environment.
