Manufacturing AssistantSummer Term (June to September), Full-time, On-site

What You'll Do

Ensure health and safety is a priority by following company policies and procedures

Read and interpret work orders
-
Wash and load parts with baskets and move through passivation process
-
Operate metal cleaning equipment such as deburrers and shotblasters to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other material from surfaces of metal parts, castings and other metal products
-
Assemble and prepare shipments according to work order requirements
-
Assist in loading and unloading of delivery trucks
-
Inspect, verify and organize incoming materials
-
Assist in loading materials onto the laser machine bed, ensuring proper alignment and clamping
-
Verify laser machine calibration and functionality to ensure accurate cutting
-
Assist brake operators with bending and forming of metal parts
-
Assist in saw cutting required parts per work order
-
Perform quality checks to ensure that established quality standards are being maintained
-
Process production orders within our ERP system
-
Maintain a clean work area
What You Bring
-
Previous experience in a metal shop or manufacturing plant in areas such as shipping, welding or machine operation is an asset
-
Can do attitude, willing to learn
-
Customer service focused with a positive attitude
-
Mechanical aptitude, comfortable with power tools (grinders, drills) and have a solid grasp of basic measurements.

Physical stamina, you’ll be on your feet, moving materials, and handling parts that have some weight to them. Must be able to frequently move, push, pull, lift or carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs, must be in good physical condition.
