Position Title: Snow School Volunteer (Seasonal)
Department: Recreation (Snow School)
Reports to: Manager, Snow School or designate

Job Summary: Snow School Volunteers play a vital support role in delivering high-quality skiing and snowboarding experiences for children and families. Working alongside certified instructors, they assist with children’s lessons, help in the rental shop, and provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who love working with children, enjoy outdoor winter activities, and want to gain experience in snow school operations and customer service.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist instructors with group lessons, ensuring a fun and safe experience for students
- Help young skiers and snowboarders with lift usage and transitions
- Support rental shop operations, including equipment fitting and organization
- Greet and guide guests to ensure a welcoming, helpful environment
- Attend mandatory pre-season training
- Follow uniform guidelines and maintain punctuality
- Assist other departments as needed based on operational demands
- Commit to working during evenings, weekends, Christmas Break, and/or March Break
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum age: 14 years old as of December 31, 2025
- Confident skiing or snowboarding on all runs at Chicopee
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Physically able to lift up to 45 lbs (20.4 kg) repeatedly
- Comfortable performing physical tasks outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong customer service mindset and friendly demeanor
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingualism is considered an asset
Additional Requirements:
- Passion for recreation and youth development
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor
- Flexible availability based on business needs
- Must supply your own certified ski/snowboard helmet (CSA Z263.1, ASTM F2040, EN 1077, or Snell RS 98 compliant)
- Willingness to comply with all uniform and dress code
- You have, or can use our Human Resource platform to obtain, the following certificates: WHMIS; Ladder Safety; Ontario Health & Safety Awareness (OHSA); Workplace Violence & Harassment (Bill 168 & 132); Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA); IASR: Information and Communications Standards and Employment Standards; Understanding Human Rights; Safe Lifting; Gender and Sexual Diversity; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB); Safe Food Handling (for Food and Beverage Employees) Training
Background Check:
- A satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) is required if you are 18 years of age or older.
