The care and quality you devote to food preparation as Demi Chef de Partie will result in truly spectacular fare that delights our guests.

What you will be doing:Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offer professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while supporting fellow ColleaguesPrepare and when required delegates the production of the necessary food items in accordance with standards in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure that there is no interruption to guest serviceEnsure consistency in the preparation of all food items for a la carte and or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standardsActively share ideas, opinions, and suggestions in daily shift briefingsHave full knowledge of all menu items, daily features, and promotionsEnsure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standardsOperate all kitchen equipment and conduct themselves with safety in mind at all timesEnsure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared, and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines.Responsible for the day to day operations of their stationEnsure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiativesCarry out any other tasks as assignedPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and rampsQualificationsYour experience and skills include:Minimum 6 years cooking experienceExperience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards is an assetRed Seal Certificate (Journeyman’s papers) or Recognized International EquivalentValid Food Handler Certificate requiredMust have experience and be proficient in both a la carte and production cookingPrevious supervisory experienceSelf-motivated, with the ability to make effective decisionsDemonstrates initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain high service levels under pressureAbility to consistently stand and walk throughout shift Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
