About the role
Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a casual Intervention Support Worker in our Red Deer Morning Star Program.
Job Summary:
As an Intervention Support Worker, you will provide high quality support to women with complex needs who are experiencing multiple barriers in their lives. This position requires workers to support women as they access the drop-in center which includes providing practical and emotional support, crisis management, advocacy, referrals, service navigation and life skills building. Position also includes the possibility of having some hours providing outreach for women accessing the program as well.
You will provide direct support to women, in order to promote connection, dignity, health and safety and to increase their ability to address the barriers in their lives. The successful candidate will have a calm and confident manner with strong de-escalation skills, and will be non-judgmental, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and part of a team.
Education and Qualifications:
- A Diploma/Degree in Human Services (or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year experience working with adults with complex issues i.e. mental health concerns, legal issues, domestic violence, drug/alcohol use, homelessness
- First aid
- Proficient with computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
- Vulnerable Sector Check issued by RCMP or City Police
- Child Intervention Record Check
