JOB PURPOSE

The position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the labs quality managment and saftey programs.

QUALIFICATION

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • Must be registered with the New Brunswick Society for Medical Laboratory Technologists (a practicing member) and in good standing.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality and Safety Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and manuals; audit, monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to quality and safety
  • Identify, monitor and report on quality and safety indicators
  • Lead or participate in initiatives to support quality improvement and to promote lab safety
  • Develop and implement orientation and training sessions
  • Investigate and respond to incidents
  • Perform and advise on analyses of adverse events such as incidents, speciment rejections and accidents
  • Oversee the document control system
