JOB PURPOSE
The position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the labs quality managment and saftey programs.
QUALIFICATION
- Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Must be registered with the New Brunswick Society for Medical Laboratory Technologists (a practicing member) and in good standing.
- Must have a minimum of three years of related experience.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality and Safety Coordinator is responsible for:
- Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and manuals; audit, monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to quality and safety
- Identify, monitor and report on quality and safety indicators
- Lead or participate in initiatives to support quality improvement and to promote lab safety
- Develop and implement orientation and training sessions
- Investigate and respond to incidents
- Perform and advise on analyses of adverse events such as incidents, speciment rejections and accidents
- Oversee the document control system
