Position Overview: Finning is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Power Systems team in Edmonton. This position will have a focus on operating the engine dyno and rebuilding large Caterpillar engines and components. The successful candidate will work a Monday to Friday shift and will report to our Power Systems – Edmonton facility.

Location: Edmonton

Shifts: 5x2 Monday to Friday

Job Description:

  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
  • Minimum 10 years experience as a Heavy-Duty Technician
  • Experience operating an engine dyno highly desired
  • Experience troubleshooting and repair large Caterpillar engines
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset Completion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset
  • Team player

Important Details:

  • A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
  • Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
