The Project:

This major national rail programme is focused on delivering a modern, electrified high-speed corridor that will strengthen connectivity between key urban centres. The scheme aims to significantly reduce journey times, enhance passenger capacity, and support long term decarbonisation goals. Development is progressing toward phased delivery over the next decade.

Leads the category management function, guiding category leads to deliver excellence and embed continuous improvement. Provides clear direction, performance management and technical development while building strong executive‑level relationships. Shapes and delivers end‑to‑end strategies, identifies opportunities and drives impactful outcomes, acting as a professional, effective and inspiring role model.

You'll Be Responsible For:

• Leads group‑wide category management and high‑value tenders.
• Builds strategic senior and C‑suite partnerships.
• Provides expert due diligence and market insight.
• Drives process, performance and commercial value creation.
• Develops and embeds strategic plans.
• Influences and negotiates on critical decisions.
• Delivers objectives in complex environments.
• Champions net‑zero delivery through proactive carbon management.

You’ll Need To Have:

• Experience delivering major rail or high‑speed programmes, ideally within the design or early set‑up stages.
• Strong commercial, tender and executive‑level negotiation expertise.
• Proven project experience with confident stakeholder influence.
• Highly effective communicator with advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Degree‑educated; CIPS or equivalent professional qualifications preferred.

Note: The estimated salary for this position is $250,000 - 300,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
