The Opportunity

This position works out of the Mississauga office in the Diabetes Care Division. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology. As the Clinical Marketing Manager, you will support the development and execution of key initiatives aligned with Abbott Diabetes Care’s Canadian strategy. This role bridges clinical expertise with marketing strategy, ensuring effective engagement with healthcare professionals and optimizing product positioning in diabetes management. This role will focus on lifecycle management, shaping upcoming product launches, and leveraging insights from the healthcare professional community to influence marketing direction and market shaping activities. Clinical experience in diabetes care is essential. This individual will have direct contact with healthcare professionals.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead lifecycle management planning for diabetes care products, including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases.
  • Partner with product teams to refine clinical messaging, ensuring alignment with strategy and demands.
  • Translate clinical insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Support the creation and execution of affiliate marketing and medical education initiatives.
  • Ensure the company’s identity and image are consistently maintained across all communications and engagements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), medical societies, and research groups.
  • Identify and develop speakers and clinical advocates.
  • Gather and synthesize feedback from the medical community to inform product positioning and messaging.
  • Prepare and review scientific presentations and materials, including slide kits and speaker content.
  • Identify emerging trends and unmet needs in diabetes care through engagement with HCPs and clinical stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic input into marketing plans and initiatives based on medical insights and market dynamics.
  • Gather insights from key healthcare professionals and develop feedback loops with the Marketing team regarding therapeutic market behavior.
  • Exchange complex medical and scientific information to ensure the safe and appropriate use of the Company’s products and enhance disease awareness.
  • Work closely with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Global Marketing to ensure cohesive execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Act as an internal medical expert on FreeStyle Libre and other ADC products.
  • Support internal teams with medical marketing expertise and strategic recommendations.
  • Execute highly complex or specialized projects with strategic impact.
  • Contribute to strategic planning cycles and business reviews with data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market developments to inform proactive strategy adjustments.
  • Plan and conduct public relations and goodwill programs to enhance brand reputation and visibility.

Required Qualifications

  • MD, PhD or advanced degree in healthcare, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical experience, ideally with clinical experience in diabetes or chronic disease.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to translate clinical insights into strategic marketing direction.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience in chronic disease management, preferably in diabetes.
  • Experience in lifecycle management and product launch planning.
  • Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for improving healthcare outcomes through innovation.
