Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Tasks: Operate heavy equipment. Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Measure distance, volume, length and weight. Operate computer controlled equipment. Complete onboard and other logs. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Prepare accident reports. Secure special attachments to equipment. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Operate hydraulic pumping systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification. Driver's License (Class 3 or D). First Aid Certificate. Asphalt spreader. Concrete spreader. Pulverizing, stabilizing machine. Compactor. Concrete pumping equipment. Paver. Roller. Scraper. Operate forklift. Front end loader. Dump truck. Gravel or dump truck. Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Bobcats. Area of work experience: Asphalt finishing. Backfilling. Ditching. Excavation. Fine grading and finishing. Haul road maintenance. Land clearing. Landscaping. Material handling. Rough grading. Slope grooming. Sloping and banking. Snow removal. Stock piling. Stripping. Stumping. Sub-grade excavating. Sub-grade rolling. Trenching. Type of industry experience: Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction. Large diameter pipeline construction. Oil and Gas Well Sites. Quarrying. Residential construction.
