Hours of Work: 5-7 hours per week

Number of Positions Available: Up to 8
Length of Appointment: April 30, 2026
Date Issued: August 15, 2025
Various Duties:
- Maintain contact with supervising professor weekly.
- Grade a variety of class assignments specific to the position and course, which can include the following: sight-signing, dictation, part-writing, analysis, counterpoint, short compositions, writing assignments (short paragraphs, reading responses, short essays).
- Grade the final exam.
- Report on frequent problems encountered in assignments, and on possible plagiarism.
- Organize time efficiently in order to finish assignments within a short turn-around window.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
- School of Music graduate student preferred; upper-year undergraduates accepted.
- Knowledge of core music theory, history, and/or aural skills is essential.
- Previous experience with courses and their textbooks is preferred.
- Good English communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working independently and making independent judgments.
- Basic math skills.
- Familiarity with online platforms such as Zoom, Moodle and Microsoft Teams is
required.
