Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Department / Research Program: RSN

Position Summary The RSN's mission is to act as a catalyst for the development of digital health research in Quebec, in order to guide an open, inclusive, trusted and sustainable digital health transformation. This mission is fundamentally transversal, and the RSN aspires to collaborate with all FRQS thematic networks, as well as with other health research networks in Quebec, Canada and internationally. The RSN's objectives are:

(i) to consolidate the digital health research ecosystem,

(ii) to network the digital health research environment, and

(iii) to forge closer links with stakeholders, decision- makers and civilians.

The RSN is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Website and Technical Specialist to maintain and enhance the RSN’s website and digital infrastructure. This role will involve both front-end and back-end responsibilities, with a focus on improving user experience, ensuring site reliability, and supporting the development of a secure and user-friendly membership directory.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in an academic/research environment.

General Duties Website Maintenance & Development

  • Maintain and update the RSN’s website (content updates, layout improvements, plugin and CMS updates).
  • Ensure website functionality, performance, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and security.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with external web hosting or development partners when needed.
  • Monitor site analytics and propose improvements based on user engagement and feedback.

Technical Development

  • Design and implement a searchable, filterable, and secure membership directory integrated with the RSN’s website.
  • Assist with data integration and the development of digital tools to support network operations (e.g., interactive maps, collaborative dashboards, document repositories).

Digital Support

  • Provide technical support to the RSN team for digital platforms
  • Collaborate with the Communications Officer to support digital content updates (graphics, event pages, news).
  • Contribute to improving the user experience for both internal and external stakeholders.

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Field of Study: Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Web development or related field

Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) with a proven track record on results.

Required Skills

  • Bilingual: French and English written and spoken.
  • Highly autonomous, effective self-starter with the ability to multi-task, exercise initiative, and judgement.
  • Must be highly detail oriented.
  • Proven experience in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with data visualization or collaboration tools (e.g., interactive dashboards, maps, APIs).
  • Experience working in academic, research, or digital health environments.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, part- time (approx. 20 hour-workweek)

Pay Scale: $20.95 - $31.42/hour Commensurate with education and work experience.

Work Shift: Variable Schedule

Work Site: Hybrid
