About the role
Full time/variable hours
Machitech Automation, a leading manufacturer of CNC cutting equipment for the steel fabrication industry is seeking a field technician for our plasma cutting tables in the United States.
We are looking for someone to join our team of technicians to travel to customer sites to install our CNC plasma tables, train customers how to use our equipment, and help them with maintenance and repairs remotely or on site.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
- Assemble the components of the machines using electrical and mechanical plans
- Perform start-up tests and machine settings
- Perform functional tests, locate and repair electrical and mechanical issues
- Install CNC Plasma Tables
- Provide training to operators on installed equipment (operation, software, maintenance, safety)
- Perform remote support and diagnostics
- Provide service on site
- Perform other related duties
- Assist in other machine set up when needed
SKILLS
- Experience and / or diploma in industrial electronics or electromechanics
- Customer service experience
- Experience in industrial maintenance or in the installation of equipment (an asset)
- Knowledge of plasma cutting (an asset)
- Experience in CNC operation (an asset)
- Experience in CAD (an asset)
- Available for travel at least 60 to 70 % of the time
- Valid passport and driver’s license (obligatory)
REQUIRED PROFILE
- Autonomy, curiosity, versatility and resourcefulness
- Good manual dexterity
- Able to work without supervision, self starter
- Attention to detail and precision
- Sense of organization and efficiency
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Good teamwork and customer service skills
