Yorkton Toyota, a member of the Key Auto Group, invites applications for the position of Tire and Lube Bay Technician. This support position is ideal for someone starting their journey in the Automotive Service Technician trade. Tire and Lube Bay Technicians service vehicles with oil changes, tire installations and other routine maintenance. They also maintain shop cleanliness and assist Journeyperson Technicians with repairs as needed.

WHAT YOU OFFER (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies):

Knowledge of working with a range of tools and equipment.

Ability to operate overhead and floor-mounted oil and grease guns, transmission jack, hand tool, radiator machine and tire rotation equipment.

Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs unaided.

Good time management skills with the ability to multi-task.

Visually perceptive with strong manual dexterity.

Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

Previous experience performing light mechanical work is an asset.

Competency in problem solving, professionalism, teamwork and safety.
WHAT YOU DO (Duties & Responsibilities):
- Complete oil changes in accordance with OEM standards.
- Install tires on vehicle both on and off rim.
- Check brakes when tires are off vehicle.
- Check and adjust all tire levels to proper inflation.
- Ensure proper care is taken to protect customer vehicles (i.e., fender cover placement, protective covers on seat).
- Organize the tire storage area.
- Shop cleanup.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Tire and Lube Bay Technicians are expected to meet key performance indicators related to safety, efficiency and shop cleanliness. Additionally, possessing and maintain a valid driver’s license and providing a criminal record check are conditions of employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- A considerable amount of the workday will be spent on foot. A reasonable level of physical fitness is beneficial.
- Work involves lifting items up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling items.
- Fast-paced environment.
- Mild exposure to noise and dust.
