About the role
**Senior Project Management Services (Level 3) (12-24 Month Contract)
Location: Victoria/Hybrid
Staffing Placement Opportunity**
- Education
- Post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management certification or designation (e.g., PRINCE2, PgMP, PMP, etc.) preferred.
- Experience
- Proven experience with large-scale Workforce Management System rollouts.
- Public sector or municipal government experience is preferred.
- More than ten (10) years working on IT projects.
- More than five (5) years in a Senior Project Manager role.
- Skills and Expertise
Demonstrated Proficiency And Experience In The Following Areas
- Senior Project Manager experience in large-scale SaaS HR and/or OHS/Disability Management projects. (Other large-scale project experience may be acceptable; however, preference will be given to HR and/or OHS/Disability Management experience.)
- Preparing project charters, master project plans, and conducting risk analysis and risk management.
- Managing scope by defining clear project boundaries and applying structured change control processes.
- Extensive experience with budgeting/cost control, resource management, scheduling (milestone and detailed), and issue management – including escalations.
- Coordinating resources and contractors to achieve project objectives.
- Leveraging technology (e.g., Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) to support efficient project management and communication.
- Communicating with cross-discipline teams, complex stakeholder groups, and project sponsors with potentially competing interests.
- Presenting project status reports, dashboards, issue logs, and risk registers to project and business leadership.
- Tracking costs against capital budgets.
- Managing sensitive issues with potential impacts across public sector organizations, private sector partners, and citizens.
- Leading stakeholders from multiple groups with diverse interests to achieve consensus on project scope, objectives, and responsibilities.
- Developing strategic communications, organizational change management, stakeholder engagement, and training plans to ensure end-user adoption and involvement.
- Managing dependencies and linkages with concurrent projects.
- Coordinating business-to-business processes with external parties (e.g., regulatory agencies).
- Delivering projects of varying sizes and complexity (some greater than $1M in value and/or lasting more than one year) within a public sector environment.
- Reporting project status and engaging with senior executives (e.g., Senior Managers, Directors, C-Level leaders).
- Applying political acumen to navigate and meet stakeholder needs on sensitive projects with tight timelines.
- Working with IT Security, Privacy, and Records Management teams to ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards.
- Requirements
- The successful candidate will be required to provide a Police Information Check (PIC).
- Preferences
Consideration will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas (in order of importance):
- Implementation of HR cloud solutions.
- Records management protocols.
- Procurement protocols.
- Organizational change management strategies.
