The HANA & Persistency Development organization is responsible for building and delivering SAP’s Database and Data Management solutions that bring out the best of every business. Key product offerings of this organization are SAP HANA, SAP HANA Cloud and the SAP HANA Cloud Data Lake.

Part of the HANA & Persistency Development organization, the Database Competence Center plays a vital role in driving customer success and adoption of our product portfolio. We engage directly with customers, lines of business, partners and other internal stakeholders, providing them with advanced technical support and a link to Development and Product Management teams.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a HANA Specialist with deep HANA knowledge and extensive customer management experience. This is a very technical, hands-on position. You are going to be responsible for:

  • Supporting customer and different SAP organizations with complex HANA projects, acting as a bridge to the development organization.
  • Contributing to critical customer escalations, customer care programs and quality initiatives.
  • Supporting the implementation of proof-of-concept projects at early product stages.
  • Providing product feedback to the HANA Development team.
  • Supporting the most complex and technically challenging HANA implementations.

Role Requirements (must-haves)

  • University degree or equivalent, preferably with solid background in Computer Science, but Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics are also acceptable.
  • Advanced knowledge in relational database technologies.
  • Experience with HANA administration and performance optimization.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing complex traces.
  • Experience troubleshooting HANA issues. Great analytical thinking with versatile and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced communication skills for proper interaction with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Relationship and trust building skills.
  • Experience with operations of large business applications/systems.
  • Ability to learn autonomously and without guidance.
  • Comfortable managing uncertainty.

Optional skills (nice-to-haves)

  • Knowledge of HANA core development and modelling (Information Models, SQLScript, CDS Views etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP’s warehouse solutions (e.g. BW on HANA, native HANA EDW / data mart solutions) and/or knowledge of SAP’s suite solutions (e.g. Suite on HANA, S/4HANA)
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. ABAP, C++, Python, Unix shell etc.)
  • Knowledge of Linux and enterprise computing solutions (high availability, file systems, computer networks etc.)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and services.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, preferably in customer-facing roles.

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 74,600 - 156,800 (CAD) CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount, and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance. Due to the nature of the role, which involves global interactions with SAP entities, as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada, functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
