Job Description Summary

Sunbelt Rentals—the fastest‑growing equipment rental company in North America—is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead service operations within our Power & HVAC division.

In this role, you’ll oversee technicians performing maintenance and repairs on rental equipment while driving efficiency, quality, and safety. You’ll also play a key role in coaching your team, improving processes, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, train, and mentor service technicians on repair methods and safety best practices
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement by reducing turnaround times and optimizing workflows
  • Coordinate daily activities for shop and yard personnel
  • Schedule and prioritize service work (in‑shop and field-based)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Coordinate breakdown responses with road technicians
  • Track repair costs and ensure accurate allocation to appropriate accounts
  • Support the Profit Center Manager with staffing, scheduling, and team development
  • Assist in conflict resolution and workforce planning

What You Bring

  • Red Seal certification (Heavy Duty) – required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • 5+ years of mechanical experience in equipment rental or a related industry
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of tools, equipment, and repair methodologies
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Ability to bend, squat, crouch, and reach
  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors as needed

Base Pay Range

40.26 - 55.36
