What You Need to Note:
The Darlington Site Office is recruiting Power Reactor Site Inspectors for the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station and the Darlington New Nuclear Project sites at the REG5 level.
The results of this process will be used to staff future positions with similar qualifications and various tenures including term, acting, assignment and indeterminate.

What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Power Reactor Site Office Supervisor (PRSOS), the Power Reactor Site Inspector is located at the nuclear site to provide regulatory oversight and conduct inspections on the operation and state of the facility and to ensure that the facility and its operators are in compliance with the Nuclear Safety and Control Act, Regulations, Licence and Licence Condition Handbook.
As a REG5 Power Reactor Site Inspector, you will:
- Assist with planning, preparing, organizing, and participating or conducting compliance activities that may also include emergency event response.
- Assist in regulatory inspections including recording findings, analysis of data and preparation and finalization of reports with guidance.
- Assist with monitoring licensee performance with the assistance of senior inspection staff.
- Provide support to senior staff in the preparation and analysis of information for compliance verification activities.
Essential Qualifications:
Education:
-
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in Science or Engineering or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Language Requirements:

Experience:

Providing support with audits or inspections including planning, participating in the conduct of audits or inspections
-
Working at industrial facility (construction, inspection, operations, maintenance, or engineering)
-
Drafting technical reports (e.g. inspection reports)
Knowledge of:
-
Knowledge in either the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, testing, safety assessment or licensing of Class I or II facilities.

Application of risk information to determine safety significance of compliance oversight findings
-
Knowledge of CNSC’s regulatory requirements applicable to nuclear power plants and the safety and control area framework
Ability:
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders.

- Knowledge of International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) safety principles
Operational Needs:

Overtime: Some overtime may be required.
