Compensation Pay Range- $23.83 - $30.83 based on education and experience.

Job Summary The TWN Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating the school bus according to a set daily schedule. They must ensure that the school bus is in good operating condition at all times, pick up and drop off students as per the schedule, maintain order and security on the bus, and obey all laws, regulations and rules of conduct.

Hours Of Work

  • Approximately 7:30am – 9:30am and 2:30pm to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (September to June) on school days only (exact times vary depending on school times and individual routes).
  • In most cases, there is potential for optional/additional kindergarten or “noon” routes and/or field & special trips during the school year and the summer. It is not required to work on weekends, evening or school holidays. While additional work may be available, it is not mandatory.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Safely drive students to and from school, following a prescribed route, on a daily basis during the school year.
  • Perform daily vehicle circle check safety inspections, documenting and reporting according to company, school and government regulations.
  • Comply with all company & government regulations, laws & policies
  • Communicate clearly and interact with parents, school employees, passengers, co-workers and the general public in a courteous, professional manner as required.

Qualifications

  • Must meet the minimum age requirements to hold a school bus driver’s license
  • Professional experience is an asset
  • At least 3 years of driving experience in BC
  • Must hold a Class 4 driver’s license
  • Successful completion of criminal record check for vulnerable populations
  • Experience working with children and the public preferred
  • Possess a good driving record
