Intern, Developer Software This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.
Job Summary The Intern Developer Software for Transportation Integration Delivery Services (TIDS) is responsible for collaborating with the rest of the TIDS team within Software Engineering to develop and test event based and data driven software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. The incumbent is joining a growing group of 8 agile teams usually composed of 5 to 7 members with different development roles such as Team Leads, Functional Designers, Developers, Testers, Development Operations (DevOps) and more. The role is an opportunity to work with new technologies and frameworks very much in demand in today's Information and Technology (I&T) marketplace.
Major Responsibilities
- Contribute to a code base of new and existing microservices or Databricks modules
- Test driven development and building automation test suits
- Participate in the deployment of applications onto Google Anthos and Databricks platforms
- Contribute to the elaboration and documentation of microservice-based and Databricks solutions
- Engage in the peer review process
- Support in the production of newly deployed microservice-based and Databricks solutions
Requirements
- Good knowledge of Java and Python programming language
- Basic knowledge of Database Management System (DBMS)
- Basic knowledge of Spring Boot Java programing framework
- Basic knowledge of Continuous Integration Principles (DevOps)
- Basic knowledge of production support and troubleshooting
- High motivation in learning
- Soft skills with aptitudes in critical thinking of software solutions
- Basic knowledge of Python Wheels or Python Notebooks*
Education Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
