About the role

As an Asphalt Terminal Operator, you will support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Asphalt Terminal in Saint John, NB by carrying out day‑to‑day operational activities, managing equipment, inventory, and ensuring product quality. Your goal will be to ensure uninterrupted terminal operations by accurately measuring and blending materials, coordinating production volumes with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining equipment and systems that support asphalt production. Your success will be achieved by safely working rotating shifts in both indoor and outdoor environments, effectively managing wet and dry chemical handling, operating fired heaters and thermal fluid systems, performing basic mechanical maintenance, and consistently sampling and testing products to meet quality standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Liquid inventory management skills (tank gauging, inventory reconciliation, loss management)
  • Understanding and experience working with liquid tankers and tanker drivers
  • Quality control skills, including sampling and testing incoming product and inventory supply
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to perform preventative maintenance through the completion of regular checklists on equipment
  • General willingness to learn and perform other duties as required for excellent productivity
  • Ability to drive and operate material handling equipment
  • Ability to read, understand data from a variety of analog and digital indicators
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 25 KG

Your Experience

  • Post-secondary education in industrial trade or technology, or equivalent experience an asset
  • Experience with liquid asphalt and or bulk liquid handling an asset
  • Experience with bulk handling of wet and dry chemicals an asset
  • Valid class 5 drivers license and ability to operate material handling equipment is required
