About the role
Transdev Canada is hiring a Red Seal Mechanic for our Vancouver location.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining fleet vehicles and equipment, conducting inspections, and ensuring full compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Your role
- Perform vehicle maintenance to Transdev’s standards, policies, and procedures.
- Diagnose all phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
- Select appropriate course of action for repairs.
- Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine maintenance on equipment.
- Remove, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components with minimal supervision (Engine Emission Components, Driveline Components, Electrical/Electronic Components, Brakes/Suspension/Steering/Exhaust, Cab/Chassis, and Hydraulics).
- Maintain and repair wheelchair lifts.
- Move vehicles safely between job and work areas.
- Complete work orders properly and accurately, maintaining detailed records of all maintenance performed and parts used.
- Ensure vehicle operators have access to necessary supplies such as fuel, oil, and other fluids.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release, seeking supervisor approval where required.
- Perform road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Ensure chemicals are stored in accordance with WHMIS requirements and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and occupational safety and health requirements.
- Maintain adequate security precautions for facility, fleet, tools, and equipment.
- Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
- Perform other responsibilities or tasks as requested or required.

Your profile
- You have a Red Seal certification in either Commercial Transport or Automotive Service Technician.
- You have a valid CVIP Inspection License.
- You hold a valid driver’s license with Air Brakes endorsement.
- You have previous experience with buses (preferred). We will consider a third or fourth year apprentice with suitable experience.
- You have a safety-conscious mindset with attention to detail and risk awareness.
- You possess advanced problem-solving ability.
Your location
- This is a full-time, unionized position located in Vancouver, BC.
- Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day, between 6:00 AM and 4:30 PM (exact hours still to be determined).
