Position summary: Tool & Die Maker is primarily responsible for building, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining dies and tools to support NASG’s production requirements in a safe and efficient manner.

The position duties will include, but are not limited to

  • Construct dies that are used to shape metal in stamping
  • Craft precision tools that are used to cut, shape, and form metal and other materials.
  • Read blueprints, sketches, specifications, or CAD and CAM files for making tools and dies
  • Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces
  • File, grind, and adjust parts so that they fit together properly
  • Test completed tools and dies to ensure that they meet specifications
  • Suggest ideas for continuous improvement
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications we are looking for include, but are not limited to:

  • Valid Tool & Die license
  • Minimum 3 years in building dies and tools
  • Experience in building progressive and transfer dies, and spotting new dies
  • Knowledge of GD&T and deep draw dies an asset
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints and specifications
  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to function both independently and with good judgment in a team environment.
  • Able to work hours of work schedule
