NATURE AND SCOPE
The Information Security Analyst strives to ensure a secure digital environment to our students, faculty and staff which includes monitoring and defending against cyber threats, implementing security policies, compliance measures as well as cybersecurity best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports the ITS team by sharing cybersecurity expertise and recommending best practices for secure system configurations and data protection measures

Collaborates with various departments to integrate security principles into all digital initiatives
-
Monitors systems and networks in order to detect and analyze potential threats.

Ensures responses to security incidents, assisting in the investigation, mitigation, and resolution of breaches
-
Conducts regular vulnerability assessments, analysis, and security audits
-
Collaborates with different departments on implementing remediation strategies based on risk assessments
-
Initiates and ensures the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of security tools
-
Supports the development and maintenance of cybersecurity documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational clarity

Communicates efficiently and in a timely manner with various internal stakeholders and external regulatory or compliance agencies
-
Identifies and/or anticipates needs related to security of the network and ensures the improvement of the informational resources

Develops required procedures and ensures updates to processes and procedures, while complying with different field standards
-
Administers, deploys, schedules, monitors, optimizes, secures, and upgrades complex systems

Performs other duties, as required/needed
PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES

Strong knowledge of network security, encryption and risk management
-
Proven ability to develop clear and comprehensive documentation and policies related to cybersecurity and IT governance
-
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex security issues in non-technical terms while fostering collaborative relationships
-
Excellent customer-service orientation
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science

Proven experience in a cybersecurity role, ideally within an educational setting
-
Certifications required: Security+, CCNA Security, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), Microsoft SC-900, Fortinet NSE 4
-
Proven experience with security monitoring tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
-
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in both French and English

Ability to engage effectively with regulatory bodies, compliance agencies, as well as internal stakeholders
