About the role
Duties:

Design and deliver a modular digital literacy curriculum covering basic computer use, email, online navigation, office applications, and online safety.

Provide instruction and hands on digital support to help learners apply digital skills to everyday tasks and employment.

Conduct learner skills and needs assessments at the start of each instructional cycle to inform instruction and goal setting.
-
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with learner needs, skill levels, and course objectives.
-
Apply adult learning best practices, including scaffolding, hands on practice, and skill reinforcement.
-
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that builds learner confidence and encourages participation.
-
Prepare course materials and learning resources for learners.
-
Monitor and document learner attendance, participation, and progress.
-
Deliver instruction and digital support services in both in person and online formats according to the established schedule.
-
Maintain accurate instructional records and documentation.
-
Report to the Program Coordinator, providing updates and raising any issues or concerns related to learner progress or program delivery.
Qualifications:
-
Community College diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Computer Studies, Information Technology, Education, or a related field is an asset.

Minimum of six (6) months of experience delivering or supporting skills training or digital literacy instruction for adult learners.

Strong working knowledge of everyday digital tools, including internet use, email, and office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides).

Experience using Chromebooks and smartphones in an instructional or learning support context.
-
Proficiency in Windows-based environments, including Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
-
Experience delivering instruction or information sessions in both in-person and virtual settings.
-
Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
-
Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and follow program direction.
-
Availability to work scheduled daytime and evening hours.
-
Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle to travel to different program sites in Brampton and Mississauga.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in an additional language is an asset.
