Job Description We’re looking for a Package Design Specialist to help shape the visual identity of TJX Canada’s private label collections. In this role, you’ll apply your market insight and home merchandise expertise to elevate packaging design, directly impacting product quality, import efficiency, and merchant success. You’ll play a key part in driving business objectives while collaborating across teams to refine production and streamline closeouts. What You’ll Do

  • Accountable for implementing off-price trend package design strategy within established timelines, providing input on private design, label guidelines ensuring packaging and labelling aligns with off price model and compliant with trademark requirements
  • Develops print ready art for production by reviewing design needs with the business partners; creates concepts utilizing various sources, layouts
  • Researches and provides input on packaging trends and color selection process; responsible for keeping abreast of product trends and industry best practices
  • Collaborates with merchants on implementing packaging design strategy to meet business objectives
  • Partners with Product Development leadership on package design approvals and to ensure/clarify creative output meets requirements, quality standards and business goal
  • Good understanding of Canadian packaging compliance regulations, including federal and provincial regulations such as the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act, and environmental standards. Well-versed in bilingual labeling requirements, with a strong understanding of Bill 96 and its impact on packaging destined for Québec—ensuring French language prominence, proper trademark usage, and compliance with updated labeling rules

About You

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Retail Merchandising/Consumer Packaging, preferably with experience in off-price retail and packaging design concept and development experience
  • Advanced computer skills in Adobe Creative Suite CC – Bridge, Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Highly advanced understanding of package design, design principles and best-practices, with a focus on layout, typography, the use of negative space, and colour theory and usage; high level of aesthetics vision with an excellent design sense with experience with four (4) colour process
  • Previous experience creating graphics logos and print production skills with technical knowledge, providing press ready solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to implement and manage details, prioritize, time manage and multi-task with limited supervision and sometimes under time pressure - ability to deliver high quality designs in very short turn-around times

Salary Range: $74,752.50-$104,653.50 /year *This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
