About the role
The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for aSessional Instructor to teach Winter 2026 ACCT 301 LEC 01 (Accounting Principles) on Monday/Wednesday from 17:00-18:15. Classes in the Winter 2026 semester run from January 12, 2026 to April 14, 2026. Registrar Scheduled Exams will take place between April 17, 2026 to April 28, 2026, if applicable.

The calendar description of the course:
¿Introduction to basic accounting principles and practices. Emphasis is placed on the accounting cycle and the key financial statements necessary for business decisions. Introduces basic financial and managerial accounting concepts.¿
Qualifications
- A post-secondary degree in a related field and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada are both required.
- Previous post-secondary accounting teaching experience is required.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience in ACCT 301 or both managerial accounting and financial accounting.
- Experience in programs such as Zoom, D2L and other digital education products would be an asset.
