WHERE YOU COME IN We are looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer to join our team at Make-A-Wish Canada. Reporting to the Director of Business Applications, the Developer is a technical leader who combines hands-on development with architectural vision to scale and optimize our Salesforce platform. This role translates business needs into secure, high-performing solutions, oversees integrations, and mentors the team to drive innovation and long-term growth.

This role can be based out of any Make-A-Wish Canada office, and is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of changes to Salesforce, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and change control protocols.
  • Manage DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing.
  • Develop scalable, secure Salesforce applications using Apex, LWC, Visualforce, Flows, and APIs.
  • Architect system enhancements and integrations with a focus on performance, scalability, and compliance.
  • Serve as technical lead for Salesforce-related projects, coordinating resources and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Provide expert-level support and manage escalations from administrators and stakeholders.
  • Drive development of data integrations and automation to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
  • Offer subject-matter expertise in CRM best practices, data architecture, and platform capabilities.
  • Identify and implement improvements based on new Salesforce features and functionality.
  • Act as liaison between users, vendors, and development partners to ensure alignment and delivery.
  • Oversee release management and ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning.
  • Works in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act in the applicable province of employment and its regulations, and complies with the Foundation’s Health & Safety Policy
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • University degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience, training and education.
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification required. Platform Developer I & II strongly preferred, with Architect certifications highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development and architecture.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, Flows, Visualforce, and Salesforce APIs.
  • Strong experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Gearset, Copado), Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware platforms (e.g., Talend, Jitterbit).
  • Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) and nonprofit business processes.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Fundraise Up, Donor Drive, S-Docs, FormAssembly, and DemandTools.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, platform scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset.
  • A clear Criminal Background Check will be required.

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hybrid work environment, with 2 days in office per week and 3 days remote.
  • Occasional day/overnight travel.

  • Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with a high-volume workload, multiple demands, and changing/overlapping priorities.
