** It is a condition of employment that you must be successful in obtaining and maintaining up to a Top-Secret security clearance through the Company's sponsorship. **
** Candidates must not be subject to the Government of Canada OCV (Out-of-country verification) process to obtain security clearances. Typically, this means that at the time of application all candidates for co-op terms must not have left Canada for more than 6 consecutive months in the past 10 years. We are looking for Software Quality Assurance Co-op students to support our QA team in ensuring the highest standards of software quality. The position is focused exclusively on Manual QA tasks, and does not involve coding responsibilities. As a co-op, you will be responsible for testing software applications to identify defects and ensure the functionality meets the requirements and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct manual testing of software applications to ensure functionality, performance, and usability meet the required standards.
- Create, execute, and document test cases and test plans based on project specifications and requirements.
- Identify, report, and track defects in the software using our defect tracking system.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and other QA team members to ensure a smooth and efficient testing process.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on quality assurance processes and practices.
- Assist in the preparation of test data and perform regression testing as needed.
- Verify that fixes are correctly implemented by retesting issues and ensuring resolution.
- Maintain thorough documentation for testing activities and results.
Requirements
- Must be a Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) or Citizen to apply.
- Enrollment in a recognized post-secondary program (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering).
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for ensuring quality in software products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Prior experience in manual software testing or quality assurance (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies is an asset.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and technologies.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen interest in software quality.
