About the role
Based in Vancouver, our client is an established developer with over 10 years of experience in the industry. They are currently looking to add a Senior Project Accountant to their team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience.
ABOUT THE POSITION Reporting to the Controller, the senior project accountant will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of 3+ development and construction projects. Some of the duties include but are not limited to: Prepare and maintain monthly proformas, bank draws, budgets & forecasts Liaison with Project QS providing draw information and reviewing draft reports Liaison with the bank regarding all information required for bank draws Inform project managers of any budget overages and review all hard cost construction draws Prepare cash calls and resolve billing issues and track insurance. Prepare cash flow, projecting cash requirements through the remaining project and review all contracts and commitments for assigned projects Prepare, review, and maintain monthly accounting entries and reconciliations. Support the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements, working papers, and reporting packages in accordance with ASPE standards. Assist with corporate and partnership tax filings, including T2, T5018, and T5013 forms. Develop and maintain financial reports using Excel and Yardi Assist with year-end audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation. Streamline accounting policies and procedures as well as work on internal controls. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting team members. Support ad hoc projects as needed. REQUIREMENTS Pursuing or designated CPA 5+ years of project accounting experience Construction or development accounting experience is required COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary: $90,000 to $100,000 Discretionary bonus Extended health and dental. 3 to 4 weeks’ vacation Tuition and transit reimbursement
